Credit cards and credit reports

Hello,

If I apply for a credit card and use a permanent address and mailing address which is different from all of my other cards, is this going to negatively affect my credit rating/standing? Furthermore, when does a credit card actually go on the credit report? Does it go on the report once you have been accepted or once you call and activate the card. Two years ago, around christmas time, I applied for a Best Buy credit card to get 10% off my purchase. However, I never activated the card. I have never received a bill or anything or any letter at all. Is this credit card going to be on my credit report?

In summation, will an unfamiliar address affect me negatively and will the credit card only go onto my record once it is activated?

Please respond to this forum, not email.

Thanks.
