My husband and I are relocating to Las Vegas in May. I have been aware of the FICO number for some time and realize it's importance relevant to our mortgage qualification process in Las Vegas.
Guess what? After obtaining a complementary credit report from TRW (Experian) I called to inquire about our FICO number as it was not part of the report.
We were told by a representative of TRW that they cannot give that to us. We then called a lender who was the last to do a credit inquiry and asked them. You would have thought we uncovered the cure to Cancer. They would not release the number to us and were quite upset that we knew about it.
Bottom line is - aren't we entitled to know this number? How can we legitimately obtain it?
