I didn't convert to a frameless format because it looks nicer.

It's step one to get the postings here indexed by the search engines, because it makes no sense to have readers find the posting in the former right frame WITHOUT having the menu in the left frame.

Since October I've been struggling to find out how to get this Discus board indexed with the search engines.

Looking at my access logs, I realized that just about all the search engine traffic goes to the OLD forum and the web pages. Absolutely NONE of the postings here, running the Discus forum software, are being indexed.

I'm considering redirecting all the OLD forum URLs to this board through .htaccess, but then the search engines will probably drop those pages entirely.

I've never submitted any pages from the old forum (Matt's WWW Board), and eventually I found out that the "?" in the Discus URLs to the individual topics causes the search engine robots to ignore those URLs.

I've been offered a custom program that automatically submits every page after every new posting with a new date to the major search engines. I know it works, because the guy's postings on his site ARE found. The only problem is that the $2,500 it takes to buy a license and have it installed aren't in my budget. (see the BayHouse ad income.)

I have looked at some submission software, but I'm not too happy with what I've seen. I'd like a simple program that will allow me to add each topic page for submission, and it would be nice if I could change the META keywords and description. The program should save the submitted pages, with a date, so that I can resubmit it once there are new postings.

Right now there are just under 1,000 pages, but not all need to be indexed. I'd be happy to just get 100 or 200 with the most current info into the search engines.

I have spent literally hundreds of hours reading at search engines, and reading and posting at the Discus Support Forum. Unfortunately there is no interest at all by the developers of Discus to resolve this MAJOR problem. I would have NEVER bought Discus had I known ... but it's too late now.

Well, any recommendations sure would be appreciated.
