Hi, my name is Bob Boog and I've been selling real estate for about 22 years and I've recently been published. My book is called Selling Homes 1-2-3 and it's available at Barnes and Noble bookstores or on Amazon.com (It's 192 pages: priced at $19.85)
At this point some of you may be rolling your eyes and saying to yourself, "another book telling me what to do?" and believe me, I understand you how feel. (Many real estate people have felt the same way.) What I've found however, is that a few people have sent me some unusual e-mails and letters after reading my book. (I learned to sell homes better after the 1994 Northridge earthquake because it was much tougher to sell homes back then. How tough? The top listing agent with over 150 units sold the year before the earthquake, went broke and quit real estate.)
Here's a strange letter I got: a new agent said that he got 2 listings after reading my book. Why is that unusual? Because my book is supposed to help agents work more effectively with buyers. What was the dumb idea that helped him get the listings? I'll share it with you. After you pass out flyers to an area, the next day you follow up with a telephone call that goes: "Hi, my name is Bob and I was wondering if you got my flyer." That's all. You don't presume that people will call you just because you went to Kinko's and used Shamrock green paper! You've got to call them too. Anyway, thanks for taking your time to read this post!
