I'm going to hold the checks for reports ordered while I was out of town for a couple of days and if I can't get the account reopened I'll send them back.

This is the chronology and lengthy, but basically that's my log of events. I am considering taking legal action against TRW, filing a complaint with the FTC and of course I plan on publishing a web page. It's here for those consumers who think my hourly fee of $75 is too high. You can read right here what it takes to be (stay) in business.

I estimate that for every paid hour I work AT LEAST ten unpaid hours (see the main BayHouse page for just a FEW examples.)

And yes, I know that TRW is really Experian now, but NOBODY in the industry has ever called them Experian. At this time I am not naming my "credit report provider", as I'm still hoping to be able to resolve the matter with TRW and have my account reopened.

Chronology:

When I tried to order credit reports on Sunday, I got a print-out claiming that my account was in arrears. I reviewed my banking records and couldn't figure out what happened as all my checks had cleared.

Monday I was in Sacramento all day to attend another one of Jim Little's outstanding seminars, and I didn't have time to deal with this.

Tuesday I called my credit provider's accounting. I was on hold for a while and eventually got transferred to the owner. He told me TRW Security in Orange County ordered them to close my account. For details I should call his person in charge of California. I did, he was out sick. Nobody else could give me the number for TRW Security. I was supposed to call the general TRW consumer line for the number. I did. Eventually I got a 714 number, but it was disconnected. I tried the general TRW number again, all afternoon, got only busy signals.

This morning I called my credit provider and was told that TRW had sent a letter stating numerous reasons why my account had to be closed. I asked for a copy of the letter, he will have to get the owner's permission. Credit report resale and credit repair were among the reasons. He gave me the # for TRW Security and told me he had spoken on the phone with Michelle.

I called Michelle, she was out to lunch. In the afternoon I finally reached her, but she told me she was not the investigator in charge. She would research and give my name and # to the investigator. I told her that they effectively put me out of business and that the matter was urgent. I haven't received a call back.

We'll see what happens tomorrow and I will update here.
