I'm wondering....How many of you after having posted here at Bayhouse have received e-mail from "well intended" persons representing so called "Credit Repair Firms?" IF a credit repair firm has really helped any one of you I personally would like to know about it!! I only wish that the FTC and state Attorney Generals would be as vigorous about enforcing the FCRA as they are in going after these firms. I will have paid an Attorney over $400.00 for doing nothing!! Yes, he did some research, etc. It was my studying the FCRA, writing to President Clinton, FTC, Attorney General, Senators, Congressman, etc. that finally paid off. I hired an Attorney after having sent a letter to Experian's legal department. My Attorney had not yet sent them a letter. Some cases do require an Attorney and filing suit against the violating CRA. It is said that most if not all things you would PAY a credit repair firm to do you could do yourself for free or for minimal cost. According to some in the field of credit if a CRA suspects you are working with a credit repair firm it only makes it that much harder. A word of advice. Any mistake or mistakes that a creditor has made in reporting your account is generally to your advantage.
