First, let me again thank Chris for this web site and the GREAT information available here. Her personal support has also been invaluable to me. Like I said Chris, run for office. As Chris knows I had been disputing with Experian for about 6 months. Certified letters back and forth, phone calls, etc. Finally I said enough is enough. It became obvious to me that CRA's AND the FTC do not take the FCRA seriously until it is literally shoved in their face. The FTC? What a joke. I only got action from them (if you can even call it that) after writing to President Clinton, the Illinois Attorney General, Congressmen, etc. Only after I threatened legal action was my credit report corrected. This after having gone out and hired an Attorney. He had not yet even written to them so it was my many months of work that got results. This entire situation took a great toll on my health as I have been suffering from cluster headaches, anxiety, depression, etc. Just the other day Senator Durbin's office called me inquiring about my case. I had written a letter to him. Remember, our elected officials work for us the American people, NOT big business OR CRA's. Want action? Write to the President, your Congressman, etc. and DEMAND action. Don't believe the lies that the CRA's tell you. Credit Reporting Agencies are not in the business of making new laws and rules but rather following them. Educate yourself by visiting web sites such as this one AND by throughly reviewing the FCRA. Never again will I let myself be trampled on and lied to by another CRA. The law is the law and come hell or high water it will be enforced.
