Take them to small claims court and sue them for the $1200 they say you owe. Make sure you have all your paper work on the newer car you purchased. That should show what the dealer gave you towards your old car and what the difference was from the newer car. Actually I would file against both dealers. Drag them BOTH into court and let the judge sort out the mess. If you take one dealer they may paint a pretty picture to make it look like the other dealer screwed up. So drag them both into court and sue them EACH for the $1200. See if you can file against both dealers on the same suit. That would even save you an extra filing fee and guarantee both dealers to be there at the same time.
