She will still have the same social security number. That will never change. Her credit file will be updated with her new name. All she has to do is tell the credit bureau she changed her name and needs to correct that on her credit file. She may have to show some documentation on it. Or is she wanting to avoid having her new name linked to her old credit file? If that's what she's trying to do she will need to get a new social security number somehow without letting social security know about her old name and social security number.
