You don't have good credit. The people at the credit union were trying to be polite and to not hurt your feelings. And then they declined your loan.
Slow credit means that you pay your bills, eventually. I.e. you paid late. That's BAD, not good.
You are entitled to a free copy of your report, as you have been declined credit. Mail the decline letter with your signed request for your free report to the bureau's address as provided on the decline letter.
