While I still haven't responded to weeks of postings in the Real Estate and Credit Forums, I just HAVE to post about JFax to show readers that not all companies suck as much as AT&T.

So what's JFax? It's a life saver for anyone doing business on the road or in need of local phone numbers in various areas. "Unified messaging" is the buzz word.

JFax provides me with a San Francisco fax/VM number. I think numbers are now available in 60 cities WORLDWIDE. All voice and fax messages are forwarded to my E-mail.

Customer Service:

Outstanding!

E-mail was answered within an hour or two. Courteous, meaningful, obviously by a QUALIFIED person with a brain. I suspect JFax pays ABOVE minimum wage.

Periodically they send me updates, but not too frequent. Best of all, since the initial problem (courtesy microcrap windows crashing) I haven't needed any help.

I found it especially helpful that they first sent me a test fax, then a test VM, then the instructions for outgoing faxes. They were spaced about a week apart and since I was very busy then, the timing was perfect. I was able to follow the instructions and everything worked as it should.

Billing:

Absolutely superior! Instant, accurate, complete .... A copy of a fax transmission receipt is posted below.

Cost:

That's the most unbelievable part, only $12.50 per month per number. Unlimited FREE forwarding to my E-mail. There is an additional fee to have it set up for voice so you can access from a phone, but I don't need that.

I just took advantage of their 25% discount for a one year prepay.

Outgoing faxes are so low priced, I can hardly believe it.

They actually give new customers a $2.00 credit to entice them to start using JFax for outgoing faxes. Please note in the fax receipt below that it cost me only 5 cents to fax from San Francisco to Phoenix on a weekday afternoon. I incurred NO other charges, sent the fax on the net.

Who is JFax?

Jaye, a German guy in his early 20s, is a musician with a brain. Just hope he won't turn into another Bill Gates. Since he's busy touring and traveling, he has an extensive staff. Most recently they hired a former *AT&T* exec. Hope that's not bad news, must admit that worries me.

I have only used JFax for a few months, just sent my first outgoing fax a couple of days ago. I regret I haven't found Jfax years ago, and I'm just hoping they'll keep up the GREAT service and don't go the way of AT&T, GTE, etc.
